About Us
Why Redwood?
Some people ask us, “Why Redwood?” What’s behind the name?
We chose the name Redwood Christian Ministries because of what God revealed to us through one of His most incredible creations — the redwood tree.
Although a redwood tree’s roots only grow around 6 feet deep, these trees can reach heights of nearly 400 to 450 feet tall. Instead of growing deep into the ground, their roots grow outward, intertwine, and connect with the roots of surrounding trees. This connection allows them to stand strong against the forces of nature together.
Redwood trees also help nourish and support the environment around them, providing shelter and sustaining the life around them.
When the Holy Spirit gave Eric Stephens this revelation, it became a picture of what Christianity was always meant to look like — not division, competition, or “this church versus that church,” but unity within the Body of Christ.
In the same way redwood trees lean on one another and strengthen their surroundings, we as Christians are called to support, serve, and walk alongside one another the same way Jesus did.
When we are firmly rooted in Christ and connected through Godly community, we can grow together, impact lives together, and withstand any storm we may face.
At Redwood Christian Ministries, our mission is simple: See a need, fill a need.
Our vision is to Be The Church by pointing people to Jesus Christ, building strong disciples, and creating unity within the Body of Christ.
Through the pillars of salvation, discipleship, and church unity, we strive to serve others with love, strengthen Godly community, and help people remain firmly rooted in Christ through every season of life.
Water Baptism
Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)
Resurrection of Just and the Return of the Lord
The angels said to Jesus’ disciples, “This same Jesus shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11) His coming is imminent. When He comes, “the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air…” (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17). Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6)
Hell and Eternal Retribution
The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel of repentance. (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20)
Man, the Fall, and Redemption
Man is a created being, made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and fall short of God’s glorious standard” (Romans 3:10 & 23). Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to redeem us from the power of sin and to restore us back to God. (Romans 5:11-18; 1 John 3:8; Colossians 1:1)
Salvation
Jesus taught that unless a man becomes born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). Salvation is the gift of God and is received upon confession of sin and belief with the heart in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10)
Sanctification
The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace. (Hebrews 12:14; 2 Peter 3:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 3:18)
The Scriptures
The Bible, as originally given, is the inspired Word of God. We accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.(2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)
The Triune God
The Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable and co-equal, but indivisible. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7)
The Lord Jesus Christ
The Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, completely God and completely man. He came to this earth, died, was buried and rose again the third day. (Isaiah 9:6; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 1:3)
Our Beliefs
About Eric Stephens - The Founder
My name is Eric Stephens, and I am an ordained Pastor, Elder, Life Coach, Podcast Host, Christian hip-hop concert host/promoter/booking agent, and the Founder of Redwood Christian Ministries.
Growing up, I struggled with feeling accepted and worthy, often seeking validation in all the wrong places. In 2010, everything changed when I encountered the love, grace, acceptance, and saving power of Jesus Christ.
Today, my passion is to see people not only come alive in Christ, but fully live for Him. Through sharing my testimony of addiction, depression, and surviving a suicide attempt, my prayer is that others would encounter the hope, healing, and freedom found only in Jesus.
At Redwood Christian Ministries, our mission is simple: See a need, fill a need. Our vision is to Be The Church, and our pillars are salvation, discipleship, and church unity.
We carry out this mission through The Rooted in Christ Podcast, the Beyond The Walls Concert Series movement, Life Coaching and Discipleship, Guest Speaking, outreach initiatives, and mission trips.
Our heart is to equip believers, strengthen the Body of Christ, and point people back to Jesus through authentic faith, Biblical truth, and Godly community.

Our Guiding Scripture
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition."
